Role Description The Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and 3D models for castings, tooling, and fabricated components, based on engineering inputs and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting specifications, creating and revising drawings in CAD software, coordinating with design and production teams, and ensuring that drawings meet dimensional, material, and manufacturing standards. The role involves maintaining drawing documentation, supporting design changes, and assisting in optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency. This is a full-time, on-site role located at the Varanasi manufacturing unit, requiring close collaboration with engineers, quality teams, and shop-floor personnel to support smooth production and delivery.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Siemens NX or similar software for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
- Strong technical drawing skills, including reading and creating engineering drawings, GD&T, and understanding of tolerances and fits.
- Knowledge of casting, machining, and fabrication processes, with the ability to design components suitable for industrial manufacturing.
- Familiarity with materials used in industrial components (e.g., SG iron, stainless steel, gun metal, phosphor bronze) and their applications.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and ability to maintain organized drawing records and revision histories.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, production, and quality teams on-site.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; prior experience as a draftsman in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
- Understanding of ISO quality standards and basic knowledge of industry safety practices; willingness to learn and adapt to evolving client and project needs.
