Role Description The DevOps Mentor role at HCL GUVI is a part-time, remote position focused on guiding learners through essential DevOps concepts, tools, and best practices. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting live online sessions, clarifying doubts, reviewing assignments, and providing constructive feedback on projects. The mentor will design and refine learning materials, demonstrate real-world DevOps workflows, and help learners understand topics such as CI/CD, cloud platforms, containerization, and monitoring. The role also involves collaborating with the academic team to improve course content, tracking learner progress, and offering career-oriented guidance and interview preparation support.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of DevOps fundamentals, including CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and automation practices.
- Hands-on experience with popular DevOps tools such as Jenkins or similar CI servers, Docker or other container technologies, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is highly beneficial.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), deployment strategies, and monitoring/logging tools is an advantage.
- Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly, mentor learners of varied backgrounds, and provide structured, actionable feedback.
- Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or technical training, especially in online or blended learning environments, is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; familiarity with additional Indian languages is a plus.
- Relevant academic background or industry certifications in DevOps, Cloud, or related fields are beneficial.
- Reliable internet connectivity and comfort working independently in a remote, part-time setting.
