Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Trainer role based at Sai University’s Drone, UAV & Robotics Lab in Chennai. The Trainer will design and deliver practical and theoretical training modules on drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and robotics for undergraduate and postgraduate learners. Daily responsibilities include conducting lab sessions, supervising student projects, ensuring safe operation and maintenance of equipment, and staying current with emerging technologies and regulations in the UAV and robotics domains. The Trainer will collaborate with faculty to integrate lab activities into the broader curriculum, support research and innovation initiatives, and assist in organizing workshops, competitions, and outreach events. The role also involves continuous improvement of training materials, documentation of lab procedures, and mentoring students on technical skills and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in drones, UAV systems, robotics platforms, and related hardware and software.
- Ability to design and deliver structured training programs, lesson plans, and lab exercises suited to learners with varied levels of technical proficiency.
- Proficiency in basic programming and control systems relevant to robotics and UAVs (e.g., Python, C/C++, ROS, flight controllers, simulation tools).
- Familiarity with safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and best practices for UAV operation and robotics labs.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with a learner-centered approach.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for hardware, firmware, and software issues in lab equipment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience in teaching, technical training, or mentoring students in a lab or industry setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate with academic and technical teams, manage lab resources responsibly, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Interest in educational innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and supporting student-driven projects and competitions.
