Overview
Amenify is looking for a Design Team Lead to lead and mentor our Design Team while also taking ownership of high-level and complex design projects.
The ideal candidate will be a strong hands-on designer and people leader who can guide the team, maintain design quality, handle escalations, and personally step in on challenging projects and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Design Team to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Take ownership of high-value, complex, and critical design projects from concept to completion.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex design-related issues and provide effective solutions.
- Personally support and work on challenging projects where senior-level design expertise is required.
- Review and approve design concepts, layouts, drawings, and presentations before final submission.
- Ensure designs meet client requirements, company standards, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Guide designers on design concepts, space planning, material selection, detailing, and execution.
- Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve team output.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Production, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Manage team workload, allocation, priorities, and deadlines.
- Identify gaps in the team's design processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
- Train and develop team members and support their professional growth.
- Handle important client interactions and presentations when senior design involvement is required.
- Stay updated on current interior design trends, materials, finishes, and industry practices.
- Ensure all projects are delivered within agreed timelines while maintaining high design standards.
Responsibilities & duties
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in interior design, residential design, or a similar environment.
- Prior experience in leading or mentoring a design team.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating residential/interior design projects.
- Strong understanding of space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, and design detailing.
- Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, Photoshop, or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.
- Comfortable being hands-on with design work for high end projects while managing a team.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience with luxury or high-end residential/commercial interiors.
- Knowledge of sustainable and innovative design practices.
- Strong understanding of project costing and budgeting
