Job Description -Process Engineer / Technology Evaluation Lead
Location : Gurugram, India (Travel to project sites as required)
About The Role
We are looking for a highly analytical and execution-oriented engineer to identify, evaluate, and scale commercially viable pathways for converting bio-waste into high-value products. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and commercial strategy, requiring a strong understanding of industrial processes and the ability to translate technical concepts into investment-ready opportunities.
The ideal candidate will possess deep engineering expertise, experience in process-intensive industries, and the ability to evaluate emerging technologies while working in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify commercially viable pathways to maximize bio-waste value by evaluating and de-risking industrial process opportunities.
- Assess the technical feasibility and commercial viability of downstream utilization pathways for gaseous and thermal process streams.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams to convert engineering concepts into deployable, investment-ready projects.
- Develop and evaluate mass and energy balances for industrial processes to support technology selection and process optimization.
- Conduct techno-economic assessments and translate engineering design decisions into commercial and investment implications.
- Track the evolving technology landscape to identify solutions based on technology maturity, technical performance, scalability, and cost competitiveness.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of technology partners through technical screening, due diligence, and RFP management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support project development, pilot implementation, and scale-up initiatives.
- Provide technical recommendations to support strategic decision-making across new process development initiatives.
- Drive innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions while operating within constrained timelines and resources.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Process Engineering), or a related engineering discipline.
- 5–7 years of engineering delivery experience, preferably in industrial, energy, or other process-intensive environments.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following domains: Gasification, Pyrolysis, Waste-to-Energy, Industrial Gases, Power Generation, Industrial Plant Design or Operations
- Strong understanding of industrial process engineering, including the ability to build and interpret mass and energy balances.
- Experience in techno-economic modelling and evaluating the commercial viability of engineering solutions.
- Exposure to plant operations, commissioning, or site-based engineering is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, structured problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
