Role Description The Deputy Manager LCL Export Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Tiruvallur, responsible for overseeing Less than Container Load (LCL) export activities. The role involves planning and coordinating daily export operations, including documentation, booking, cargo consolidation, and shipment scheduling in line with international trade regulations. The Deputy Manager collaborates with internal teams, customers, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective export processes. This position also monitors operational performance, resolves issues, and implements process improvements to enhance service quality and compliance. The role includes preparing reports, supporting business planning for export volumes, and mentoring team members to maintain high operational standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Export operations and procedures, including LCL handling and documentation.
- Skills in Business Planning and operational forecasting to support export capacity and resource allocation.
- Experience in International Business and International Trade, including familiarity with global shipping practices and regulations.
- Sales and customer relationship management skills to support client communication and service quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to interpret and comply with customs, regulatory, and trade documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic logistics/ERP systems for reporting and coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Prior experience in container terminal operations, freight forwarding, or shipping industry is an advantage.
