ROLE PURPOSE
This role exists to take full ownership of the day-to-day running of operations — planning, production, supply chain and outsourcing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operational leadership & continuity: run daily production, weekly order-status and monthly performance reviews; maintain a single, reliable picture of what's on order, where it is, and what's at risk.
• Order-to-delivery ownership: own the full cycle — order confirmation, sample/PP approval, material in-house, stitching (in-house and outsourced), finishing, inspection, dispatch — flagging slippage early and driving recovery.
• Planning & capacity management: maintain a consolidated capacity plan across in-house lines and outsourced units; balance cost, quality risk and delivery; plan for seasonal peaks, shutdowns and labour availability.
• Cross-functional coordination: act as the bridge between merchandising, product development, sourcing, production, logistics, quality, compliance and outsourcing; resolve inter-departmental conflicts quickly.
• Cost & efficiency: own cost per unit, labour and overtime, job-work cost, rejections/rework and freight; track actuals against plan and drive efficiency improvement.
• Systems & reporting: produce a weekly operations MIS for the Operations Head; maintain one source of truth for order status, WIP, inventory and dispatch; drive adoption of digital tracking.
• Full decision authority in the Operations Head's absence — production plan, capacity allocation, dispatch priority, and authority to hold/release shipments on quality or compliance grounds.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualification: Degree or Master's in Textile Engineering, Technology or Garment Manufacturing/ Experience: 15+ years
• Strong Excel skills and disciplined record-keeping
• Clear written and verbal English communication
• Strong coordination and follow-up across multiple departments
• Demonstrated ownership of a full order-to-delivery cycle, including outsourced production
• Robust planning and production-tracking systems; calm under pressure, decisive, holds people to commitments
• Comfortable in a values-driven social enterprise where commercial delivery and community impact are pursued together
Good to have: 15+ years across textile production, production planning, supply chain, operations and merchandising
