Role Description The Cyber Security Intern role at Weskill is a full-time, remote position supporting the design, testing, and improvement of security practices across digital platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in security assessments, monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, and helping document findings and remediation steps. The intern will support senior team members in researching emerging cyber threats, updating security guidelines, and contributing to awareness materials and internal reports. This role offers exposure to practical cybersecurity scenarios, collaboration with a skilled team, and opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to real projects.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including understanding of basic security principles and threat landscapes.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security, such as familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection concepts, and secure network design fundamentals.
- Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including awareness of common vulnerabilities and secure coding or testing practices.
- Candidates should possess general Cyber skills, including exposure to security tools, incident response concepts, and best practices for protecting digital assets.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Comfort working remotely, managing time effectively, and communicating clearly in written and verbal forms.
- Familiarity with operating systems, basic scripting, and security frameworks or standards (such as OWASP or ISO/IEC 27001) is a plus.
