Content Manager (Project Manager): Tamil, Telugu & Malayalam
Location: Bengaluru, in-office
Type: Full-time
Experience:1.5+ years
Salary: ₹7 to 8 LPA
Reports to: Head of Post-Production, working closely with the founders
Team: 5+ across writing, research, video, editing and creators
About Us: Little Stories is a social media network that helps brands reach India through the cities people belong to and the cultures they're part of. Our channels include Little Bengaluru Stories, Little Pune Stories, Little Delhi Stories and Little Hyderabad Stories, with more than 30 cities in the pipeline.
Instead of pushing generic, one-size-fits-all content, we run a network of city-specific channels. Each one reflects the language, humour and everyday texture of its city. Through hyperlocal storytelling and short-form video, we help brands stop broadcasting at audiences and start belonging within their communities.
Role Overview : As Content Manager for Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam markets, you will own regional content end-to-end, from planning and scripting through production and performance review. This role sits at the intersection of editorial judgment and operational discipline: you will be responsible for what gets made, when it gets made, and why it performs the way it does.
Why This Role Matters: South India represents some of Little Stories' fastest-growing and most culturally distinct audiences. Getting Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam content right, in language, tone, and cultural nuance, is central to the company's ability to scale credibly across new cities without diluting the hyper-local promise that differentiates it. This role has direct ownership over that outcome.
Key Responsibilities
Own the content calendar
- Build and maintain weekly and monthly content calendars across all three languages, with clear timelines from research through publishing.
- Proactively identify scheduling risk and resolve it before deadlines are affected.
Own production operations
- Take full operational ownership of the production pipeline, coordinating across writers, researchers, editors, video teams, and creators to ensure nothing stalls between stages.
- Build and maintain a shared production tracker that gives complete visibility into the status, owner, and timeline of every piece of content at any given moment.
- Identify bottlenecks across the pipeline before they cause delays, and resolve them directly rather than escalating and waiting.
Drive story ideation
- Track trends across South Indian social media and creator culture on an ongoing basis.
- Pitch episodes, hooks, and series, and maintain a live topic bank to ensure consistent content supply.
Manage scripting and quality
- Brief writers with clarity and specificity.
- Step in to write scripts directly when needed, ensuring quality and timelines are never dependent on writer availability alone.
- Review all scripts for structure, tone, and shareability, and manage revisions efficiently to keep production on schedule.
Analyse performance
- Review views, watch time, retention, shares, and comments across all three languages.
- Translate performance data into clear, actionable recommendations for future content.
What Success Looks Like in 90 Days
- A functioning content calendar across all three languages, operating independently of day-to-day oversight.
- 27 videos a week (9 per language) shipping on schedule.
- A monthly performance report with recommendations acted upon by the founders.
Skills & Requirements
- 1–2 years in content production, content operations or digital media, with hands-on experience coordinating video from script to publish.
- Experience running a multi-stage production pipeline across writers, editors, video teams and creators, where you owned the hand-offs.
- Proficiency with production tracking tools such as Notion, Trello, Asana or Google Sheets, and the ability to build a tracker from scratch that anyone can read at a glance.
- A track record of spotting bottlenecks early and fixing them yourself, whether that's a delayed script, a missed shoot or a stuck edit.
- A working understanding of scripting, shooting and editing timelines, so you know how long each stage really takes and where things usually slip.
- Fluency in at least one of Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam, with strong cultural familiarity across all three markets.
- Current, working knowledge of Instagram Reels and YouTube (Shorts and long-form).
- Hooks and engagement: you know what makes the first 3 seconds stop the scroll, and what shares, saves, comments and watch time each say about a video.
- Comfort with platform analytics in YouTube Studio and Instagram Insights.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Working proficiency in a second of the three languages.
- Experience with business, AI/tech or home appliance content categories.
- Experience managing freelance writers, editors or creators, including briefs, deadlines and payments.
- Familiarity with publishing and scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite or YouTube Studio scheduling.
- A working understanding of outlier spotting, topical content, A/B testing, and content pillars and formats.
- Basic editing knowledge (Premiere Pro, CapCut or similar), enough to judge how long an edit should take and give clear notes.
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership: you treat every delay as your problem to solve, not someone else's.
- Calm under pressure: you keep the pipeline moving when three things break on the same day.
- Clear, proactive communication: people know where things stand without having to ask.
- Firm but good to work with: you can push writers, editors and creators on deadlines without damaging the relationship.
- Organised by default: your trackers, briefs and notes stay current, not updated once a week.
Experience & Background
- A track record of shipping content at volume. Tell us roughly how many videos a week you coordinated, across how many people.
- Examples of production systems you've built or run, such as a tracker, workflow or process that made a team faster or more reliable. A screenshot or short walkthrough is enough.
- One example of a production problem you caught early and fixed: what went wrong, what you did, and what changed afterwards.
