Job details:
For PhD-level scientists who can translate protein structure, dynamics, and design principles into oncolytic virus engineering decisions and therapeutic hypotheses.
ELIGIBILITY
- PhD in structural biology, protein engineering, biophysics, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Recent PhD graduates and postdocs are strongly encouraged to apply; industry experience is optional.
- Strong lifelong-learning mindset and ability to rapidly absorb new methods in molecular dynamics, protein design, and viral engineering.
- Hands-on experience with molecular dynamics simulation (GROMACS, AMBER, NAMD, or similar), structure prediction tools (AlphaFold, RoseTTAFold), Python and/or scripting for structural pipelines, and reproducible computational workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and model protein structures relevant to viral capsid engineering, receptor-binding domains, and immune-evasion elements.
- Run and interpret molecular dynamics simulations to evaluate protein stability, conformational dynamics, and mutation effects.
- Build reproducible structural analysis pipelines for variant screening, binding-site characterization, and structure-function hypothesis generation.
- Work with virologists and wet-lab scientists to translate structural predictions into engineering designs and experimental validation plans.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Experience with viral capsid or envelope protein structures, protein-protein interaction modeling, or rational protein design/engineering.
- Comfort with structure prediction tool limitations, force-field selection, simulation convergence, and communicating structural uncertainty to non-structural biologists.
- Ability to read new literature quickly and translate emerging structural-AI methods (e.g., diffusion-based protein design, AlphaFold-Multimer) into practical internal workflows.
