Role Description
The Community Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Minimalist's Panaji, Goa property. This role is responsible for nurturing a vibrant community atmosphere by engaging guests, organizing events and activities, and fostering meaningful connections among travelers, local creatives, and neighborhood partners.
Day-to-day tasks include greeting and interacting with guests, managing community programs and workshops, supporting social media storytelling from the property (including shooting and editing photo/video content), and collaborating with the operations and F&B teams to ensure a cohesive guest experience. The Community Manager will also handle local partnerships, collect and act on guest feedback, and help maintain the aesthetic and cultural identity of the space.
This role requires being present in the hotel's common areas, actively building relationships and ensuring guests feel welcomed, informed, and inspired.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and engage guests, creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community atmosphere.
- Plan, organize, and host workshops, social gatherings, and cultural activities aligned with the brand's ethos.
- Shoot and edit photos and short-form videos (Reels/stories) capturing property life, events, and guest moments for social media.
- Write and edit captions, posts, and guest-facing communications with a consistent brand voice.
- Build and maintain relationships with local artists, creatives, businesses, and community partners.
- Collect guest feedback proactively and act on it to continuously improve the guest experience.
- Coordinate closely with Operations and F&B teams to ensure seamless, cohesive guest experiences.
- Maintain the aesthetic and cultural identity of the space across events, content, and guest touchpoints.
- Manage schedules and logistics for multiple concurrent community initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong community engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with diverse guests, local artists, and partners.
- Event planning and coordination skills, including organizing workshops, social gatherings, and cultural activities.
- Communication and storytelling skills, including clear verbal and written communication and hands-on social media content creation.
- Proficiency in photo and video editing (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar tools) is required for creating and refining social media and guest storytelling content.
- Hospitality and customer service skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, inclusive spaces and resolving guest concerns proactively.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives, schedules, and collaborations in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in hotels, hostels, co-living spaces, or community-focused venues is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with youth culture, design, and travel trends, and comfort working in social, creative environments is advantageous.
- A bachelor's degree in hospitality, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience in community-led roles will also be considered.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
