Role Description The Collection Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Meerut, responsible for managing and monitoring loan repayment collections from customers. The role involves visiting customers, following up on pending payments, explaining repayment schedules, and resolving payment-related queries in a professional and respectful manner. The Collection Officer will track overdue accounts, maintain accurate records of interactions and collections, and provide timely updates to branch and regional teams. The role includes coordinating with internal stakeholders to address account discrepancies, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines, and supporting initiatives that improve collection efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and clearly with diverse customers.
- Basic financial understanding and numerical aptitude to interpret repayment schedules, EMI structures, and account status.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation, including maintaining accurate collection reports and customer visit logs.
- Problem-solving and negotiation skills to handle overdue accounts, address concerns, and reach mutually acceptable repayment solutions.
- Good knowledge of the local area in and around Meerut, with willingness to travel for customer visits and field collections.
- Ability to work independently, adhere to processes, and follow regulatory and ethical guidelines in collections activities.
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma; a graduate degree in commerce, finance, or a related field is an advantage.
- Prior experience in collections, microfinance, housing finance, or retail lending will be considered beneficial.
