Job Role:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for managing wood, MDF, lamination, and CNC-based production operations, ensuring timely manufacturing, quality standards, machine efficiency and smooth coordination across teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Plan and execute daily production targets for wood and MDF-based products.
- Manage end-to-end production flow: sheet cutting → CNC machining → V-grooving → lamination → folding → finishing.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules with optimal manpower and machine utilization.
2. Machine Handling & Operations
- CNC machines (routing, internal diameter cutting, grooving)
- V-Grooving machines
- Panel/Beam saws
- MDF sheet cutting machines
- Lamination and folding machines
- Ensure correct setup, tooling, and parameters for CNC machining operations.
- Oversee lamination processes, bonding quality, and surface finish.
- Handle basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance coordination.
3. CNC & Lamination Process Control
- Execute CNC programs as per drawings and cutting plans.
- Ensure accuracy in internal diameter cuts, grooves and profiles.
- Monitor lamination quality, alignment, edge finish and folding accuracy.
- Reduce material wastage and improve yield through process optimization
4. Quality Control
- Ensure quality standards for MDF boards, laminates, grooves, folds and finished panels.
- Check dimensional accuracy, surface finish, bonding strength and edge quality.
- Identify defects and implement corrective actions at the process level.
5. Material & Inventory Management
- Manage raw materials: MDF sheets, laminates, adhesives, consumables and hardware.
- Coordinate with stores for availability, stock planning and FIFO usage.
- Control material movement to minimize scrap and rework.
6. Team Management
- Supervise CNC operators, machine operators, helpers and production staff.
- Train team members on machine operation, safety, lamination processes and quality standards.
- Ensure safe working practices and productivity across shifts.
7. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with design/CAD teams for drawings, CNC files, and production feasibility.
- Work closely with QC and dispatch teams for final inspection and delivery.
- Maintain daily production reports, machine efficiency data, and rejection analysis.
Candidate Profile
- Strong knowledge of wood, MDF, CNC machining, V-grooving and lamination processes.
- Hands-on experience in CNC machine operation and lamination & folding machines.
- Ability to independently manage production floors and shifts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with focus on quality, safety and timelines.
