Role Description The QA/QC Civil Engineer Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for leading quality assurance and quality control activities across civil engineering projects, including establishing and enforcing quality standards, procedures, and inspection plans. The manager oversees site inspections, material testing, and construction workmanship reviews to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with project managers, design engineers, contractors, and clients; reviewing technical documentation and drawings; preparing quality reports and corrective action plans; and monitoring progress to identify and mitigate quality-related risks. The role also involves training and mentoring QA/QC staff, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in project delivery and construction practices.
Qualifications
- Strong civil engineering knowledge, including structural design fundamentals, construction methodologies, and familiarity with local and international building codes and standards.
- Experience in QA/QC management for civil projects, covering inspection planning, material quality control, testing procedures, documentation, and non-conformance handling.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports, with attention to detail and accuracy in review processes.
- Ability to lead and manage project teams on-site, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and resolve quality and compliance issues efficiently.
- Solid understanding of safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements related to civil construction, and experience implementing best practices on site.
- Familiarity with construction management and QA/QC software tools for documentation, tracking, and reporting quality metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); a master’s degree or relevant professional certifications in QA/QC or project management are an advantage.
- Several years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering quality management, preferably in large-scale or complex infrastructure or commercial projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to high standards of workmanship and professional integrity.
