Chartered Accountant – Internal Audit | Stock Audit | Billing Audit

About the Role
We are looking for qualified Chartered Accountants to be deputed on-site at a leading multi-specialty hospital in Mumbai. The role will involve Stock/Inventory Audit, Billing/Revenue Audit and Internal Audit, with a strong focus on financial controls, revenue assurance, process compliance and identification of control gaps.
The position will work closely with the Finance Head and various operational teams including Stores, Pharmacy, Billing, Purchase and other finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
Stock & Inventory Audit
• Conduct periodic physical and system-based verification of pharmacy, medical/surgical consumables and general stores.
• Reconcile physical stock with ERP/book records and analyse variances.
• Review ageing, slow-moving, non-moving, near-expiry and expired inventory.
• Verify GRN, purchase order, invoice and issue documentation.
• Review high-value inventory, including implants and high-cost drugs.
• Identify pilferage, short receipts, duplicate billing and other stock-related control issues.
Billing & Revenue Audit
• Conduct concurrent/pre-discharge audit of IPD bills.
• Verify tariff, package rates, consumables and pharmacy charges against actual consumption.
• Review OPD, diagnostics and ancillary service billing for completeness and accuracy.
• Review discounts, concessions, waivers and rate overrides for appropriate approvals.
• Audit insurance/TPA and government scheme billing and related reconciliations.
• Identify under-billing, missed charges, duplicate billing and revenue leakage.
Internal Audit & Financial Controls
• Execute risk-based internal audit covering key financial cycles including Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Treasury/Cash & Bank and Statutory Compliance.
• Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal financial controls.
• Identify control gaps, process inefficiencies and SOP/DOA deviations.
• Review vendor empanelment, purchase approvals, payment processes and segregation of duties.
• Review bank reconciliations, cash handling and petty cash controls.
• Track closure of observations arising from Statutory Audit, Tax Audit and Internal Audit.
• Assist in SOP/process documentation and control-gap remediation.

Candidate Profile
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) – mandatory.
• 2–4 years of post-qualification experience in Internal Audit, Stock Audit, Revenue Audit or Billing Audit.
• Healthcare/hospital industry experience will be strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIS, ERP-based inventory systems and healthcare revenue cycles will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Ind AS, IFC framework, Risk & Control Matrices (RCM) and internal audit methodology.
• Exposure to IBC/CIRP or financial restructuring is desirable.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills with attention to detail.
• Good report-writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professional scepticism and objectivity.
• High integrity and discretion, particularly in handling confidential financial and patient-related information.
• Willingness to work on-site at hospital premises and and undertake periodic travel between Mumbai and Vizag, if required.
