Role Description The Career Counselor will work full time on-site at Upsurge Infotech in Mumbai, supporting learners in planning and advancing their careers in the IT industry. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, assessing students’ interests and skills, and recommending suitable training programs such as Software Testing, ERP, Data Analysis, Python, and Java. The role involves guiding learners through career pathways, assisting with resume building, interview preparation, and job search strategies, and maintaining accurate records of counseling interactions and progress. The Career Counselor will collaborate with trainers and placement teams to align counseling with industry requirements and support learners in achieving their professional goals.
Qualifications
- Ability to provide Career Counseling and Student Counseling tailored to IT training and placement goals.
- Skills in Career Development and Career Management to help learners plan short- and long-term professional pathways.
- Strong Communication skills, including active listening, clear articulation, and empathetic interaction.
- Experience working in an educational, training, or placement-focused environment is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of current IT industry trends and roles (e.g., software testing, ERP, data analysis, programming) is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Human Resources, Management, or a related field preferred.
- Organizational skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, learner-centered setting.
