About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and technology-savvy Cambridge Primary Digital Literacy Teacher to join an international curriculum school in Bangalore. The candidate will be responsible for conducting computer and digital literacy classes for primary school students, developing age-appropriate technology skills, and creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences aligned with the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with young learners and be able to make technology education engaging, practical, creative, and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging computer and Digital Literacy lessons for primary students in alignment with the Cambridge Primary curriculum.
- Conduct regular computer lab/classes and provide hands-on learning experiences.
- Teach age-appropriate concepts
- Guide on Internet and online research skills, Digital citizenship and online safety, Basic coding and computational thinking, Creative digital tools and multimedia, Introduction to Robotics, AI and responsible use of technology, where age-appropriate
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, activities, projects, and assessments suitable for different primary age groups.
- Use interactive teaching methods, educational software, games, and digital resources to make computer classes engaging.
- Differentiate instruction based on students' learning abilities and technology proficiency.
- Encourage students to use technology creatively, responsibly, and ethically.
- Integrate critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity into technology lessons.
- Ensure effective classroom and computer-lab management, including responsible handling of devices and equipment.
- Collaborate with class teachers to integrate technology into cross-curricular learning wherever appropriate.
- Participate in parent meetings, school events, professional development programs, and other academic activities.
Curriculum & Teaching Expectations
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Cambridge Primary framework and learner-centred teaching approaches.
- Design lessons that focus on practical application rather than only theoretical knowledge.
- Encourage inquiry, experimentation, creativity, and independent learning.
- Incorporate project-based and activity-based learning into computer classes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Education, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification such as B.Ed., D.El.Ed., or equivalent is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary curriculum is preferred.
- Candidates with experience teaching Computer Science, ICT, Digital Literacy, or Computer Applications at the primary level will be preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Cambridge/ IB school.
- Experience handling computer classes for primary students is essential.
