Role Description This full-time, on-site Calibration Technician role is located in Muscat. The Calibration Technician ensures that instruments and test equipment used in oil and gas operations are accurately calibrated and functioning within specified standards. Daily responsibilities include performing calibration procedures on a variety of instruments, conducting routine laboratory tests and measurements, and documenting results in accordance with internal and industry regulations. The role involves troubleshooting equipment issues, maintaining calibration records, and coordinating with operations and maintenance teams to schedule and complete required calibrations. The technician will also support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, recommending corrective actions, and complying with all safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Calibration and Instrumentation for industrial or laboratory environments.
- Candidates should possess practical Laboratory Skills, including handling measuring devices, test methods, and quality control procedures.
- Candidates should possess experience working with Test Equipment, including setup, operation, verification, and routine maintenance.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve instrument and equipment performance issues.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in engineering, instrumentation, electronics, or a related field is beneficial.
- Knowledge of safety standards, quality systems, and documentation practices in industrial or laboratory settings is beneficial.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and calibration certificates, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior experience in oil and gas, process industries, or a calibration laboratory environment is an advantage.
