Job details:
Buyer / Merchandiser
We’re looking for a Buyer/Merchandiser to join our team and take ownership of the product development process across our design and consultant network.
This is a role that sits at the intersection of merchandising, product development and project management. You will be the key link between our design consultants, designers and internal teams — making sure ideas are feasible, clearly communicated and ultimately executed on time.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage the process from design brief to final product, keeping multiple projects and timelines on track.
- Review design briefs and concepts to understand construction, feasibility, materials, trims and execution requirements.
- Identify early on what can and cannot be made, and work with designers and consultants to find practical solutions.
- Continuously review designs for potential infringement/IP concerns and flag anything that needs to be reconsidered.
- Work closely with design consultants to clarify briefs, provide feedback and drive revisions.
- Coordinate with internal designers and relevant teams to resolve construction and development-related questions.
- Maintain trackers, timelines and follow-ups across multiple projects.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, pending decisions and potential delays and ensure they are resolved.
- Ensure that the final product stays true to the original design intent while remaining commercially and technically viable.
- Work cross-functionally with design, sourcing, production and other teams to take products from concept to execution.
What we’re looking for
- 1-3 years of experience in fashion merchandising, product development or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and fashion product development.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with designers, consultants and multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset — someone who doesn’t just flag a problem but works towards solving it.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is someone who can look at a design and think beyond just the product — “Can we make this? How do we make it? What could go wrong? Is there an IP concern? What needs to change, and who needs to action it?"
If you enjoy working closely with creative teams but are equally comfortable with execution, timelines, problem-solving and taking ownership, we’d love to hear from you.
