- Engage senior leadership and R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and CMC decision-makers.
- Lead capability presentations, client discussions, commercial negotiations, and contract closure.
- Promote integrated BE and early clinical service offerings, including patient-based PK/PD studies.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, capability presentations, and service agreements.
- Manage pricing, deal structure, and margins to support profitable growth.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipelines, forecasts, and activity tracking using Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar tools.
- Provide regular business development reports to senior management.
- Monitor competitor activity, regulatory developments, and ANDA/NDA filing pipelines.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant business development experience in the CRO industry, with a strong focus on BA/BE services.
- M.Pharm or M.Sc. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology.
- Demonstrated success in securing large BA/BE contracts with domestic and international pharmaceutical clients.
- Experience with complex generic studies, including narrow therapeutic index drugs, modified-release formulations, inhalation products, and topicals.
- Strong client relationship management, presentation, negotiation, and commercial skills.
- Ability to explain technical BE/PK requirements clearly to clients and translate them into commercial proposals.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, pipeline management, and sales forecasting.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA in Marketing or International Business.
- International business development exposure across the US, EU, APAC, MENA, or Latin America.
- Knowledge of USFDA, EMA, and CDSCO bioequivalence regulatory expectations.
- Familiarity with inpatient PK/PD study operations.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry conferences.
What Success Looks Like
- Growth in BA/BE and clinical services revenue.
- Acquisition of new complex generic and branded generic clients.
- Strong proposal conversion and contract closure rates.
- Increased business from existing accounts and repeat client engagements.
- Accurate forecasts and a qualified pipeline covering at least three times the annual revenue target.
