Role Description The Business Development Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with prospective and existing clients, and supporting the design of tailored sustainability solutions. The Business Development Associate will conduct market research, prepare proposals and presentations, and collaborate with internal teams to align offerings with client needs in ESG, carbon accounting, and decarbonization services. Day-to-day activities include outreach via calls, emails, and meetings, maintaining an accurate sales pipeline, and reporting on business development metrics. The role also involves representing Greenmentor at events, supporting marketing campaigns, and contributing to the continuous improvement of sales processes and client engagement strategies.
Qualifications
- Business development and sales skills, including lead generation, prospecting, pipeline management, and client relationship building.
- Market research and analytical skills to understand sustainability trends, ESG regulations, and client needs, and to translate insights into opportunities.
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, presentation abilities, and confidence in client-facing discussions.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple opportunities, and meet deadlines and targets.
- Interest or experience in sustainability, ESG, carbon accounting, or related environmental fields, with a willingness to learn technical concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, productivity software (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations), and basic digital communication platforms.
- Collaborative mindset, adaptability in a fast-evolving sector, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
