Business Analyst
Role Overview
As a Business Analyst, you will collaborate closely with client stakeholders and engineering teams to understand processes across insurance payer portals, determine the information that needs to be captured, and convert those findings into well-defined requirements for automation.
The role also requires you to quickly build knowledge of the Dental RCM domain, understand different payer processes, and turn business workflows into practical and actionable requirements for the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Eligibility Data Gathering: Review and navigate payer portals to identify the information required for insurance eligibility verification, such as member details, coverage information, benefits, eligibility status, and other relevant data.
- Process Discovery: Explore payer portals manually to understand different workflows, determine required information, and document the overall process.
- Requirements Gathering: Translate identified business processes into structured requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and applicable business rules.
- Engineering Collaboration: Partner with engineers to communicate business requirements, address exceptions and edge cases, and verify that the automated solution meets the expected workflow.
- Data Analysis: Review information available across payer portals, identify patterns and variations, and establish which data should be captured and how it should be interpreted.
- Client Collaboration: Engage with clients and relevant stakeholders to understand business needs, confirm assumptions, and communicate findings clearly.
- Domain Learning: Quickly build working knowledge of Dental RCM, payer workflows, and associated industry terminology.
- Validation & Testing: Validate automated workflows against existing manual processes and identify any gaps, inconsistencies, or discrepancies.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Business Analysis Experience: Strong experience with requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to understand complex workflows, break them into logical components, and convert them into clear and actionable requirements.
- Technical Acumen: Good understanding of software development concepts, web applications, APIs, data, and automation.
- Strong Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, developers, and other technical teams.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to accurately identify required data points, business rules, exceptions, workflow variations, and edge cases.
- Agile Experience: Experience working in Agile environments with an understanding of user stories, acceptance criteria, and iterative software delivery.
- Domain Adaptability: Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar business domains and processes. Previous exposure to Dental RCM would be an advantage.
- Nice to Have: Experience or familiarity with web scraping, data extraction, automation, SQL, Excel, Jira, or related tools.
