Role Description The Branch Head role is a full-time on-site position based in Channarayapatna. The Branch Head will oversee overall branch operations, including business development, portfolio growth, and customer relationship management in the local market. Daily responsibilities include leading and mentoring branch staff, monitoring loan sourcing and processing, ensuring adherence to credit policies, and maintaining portfolio quality through regular reviews and follow-ups. The Branch Head will be responsible for achieving business targets, managing risk and compliance, and ensuring that customer service is consistent, transparent, and aligned with company values. The role also involves community outreach, market analysis, and collaboration with regional leadership to implement process improvements and local strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience in branch management, retail lending, or microfinance operations, with a strong understanding of credit processes and portfolio management.
- Proficiency in business development activities, including market mapping, customer acquisition, and relationship management within local communities.
- Strong people management skills, including team leadership, coaching, performance monitoring, and the ability to build a collaborative branch culture.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, collections, and compliance with regulatory and internal policies in financial services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse customers and stakeholders in a clear and respectful manner.
- Comfort with basic financial analysis, documentation, and use of branch-level systems or software for reporting and tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, business administration, or a related field; relevant experience in micro or small enterprise lending is highly preferred.
- Fluency in local language and working proficiency in English, along with familiarity with the Channarayapatna region and its micro-enterprise ecosystem.
