QualificationDiploma / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering (Mandatory)
- 2–3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably in a hospital environment
- Knowledge of medical equipment, preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Experience working with hospital clinical departments will be an added advantage
Job SummaryThe Biomedical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of medical and clinical equipment across the hospital. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, equipment calibration, coordination with equipment vendors and service providers, maintenance of biomedical equipment records, and ensuring compliance with hospital safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the configuration / installation, maintenance, servicing, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance schedules for critical and non-critical medical equipment.
- Attend equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an updated inventory and asset register of all biomedical equipment.
- Coordinate with OEMs, authorized service providers, and vendors for equipment servicing, AMC/CMC, repairs, and replacement of components.
- Ensure proper installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of new medical equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring failures or potential risks.
- Maintain records of preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, calibration, service reports, and equipment history.
- Ensure medical equipment is properly tagged, identified, and maintained as per hospital procedures.
- Coordinate with clinical departments to understand equipment requirements and resolve operational issues.
- Support procurement of biomedical equipment by providing technical specifications and evaluating equipment/service requirements.
- Monitor AMC/CMC contracts, warranty periods, service visits, and vendor performance.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety procedures, equipment standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support hospital accreditation requirements, including documentation and readiness for NABH audits.
- Conduct basic user training and equipment orientation for clinical and nursing staff where required.
- Ensure appropriate handling and safe operation of medical equipment to reduce equipment-related risks
