Role Description The Bima Sakhi LIC of India role at the Life Insurance Corporation of India is a full-time hybrid position based in Lucknow, with some flexibility for work from home. The role involves identifying and approaching prospective customers, explaining LIC’s range of insurance and pension products, and assisting individuals in selecting suitable plans based on their needs and financial goals. The Bima Sakhi is responsible for guiding customers through proposal completion and documentation, ensuring accurate and timely submission. Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining long-term customer relationships, conducting follow-ups and policy servicing, and participating in local outreach or awareness activities to increase insurance penetration in the community. The role also requires coordination with branch staff and supervisors, attending training sessions, and meeting sales and service targets in line with LIC’s guidelines and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse customers, explain insurance concepts clearly, and build trust-based relationships.
- Candidates should possess customer service and relationship management skills, including the ability to understand individual needs, provide personalized guidance, and offer ongoing policy support.
- Candidates should possess basic financial awareness and problem-solving skills to help customers assess risk, evaluate plan options, and make informed decisions.
- Candidates should possess organizational and time management skills to handle multiple customer interactions, maintain records, and meet sales and service targets.
- Candidates should possess basic digital literacy skills, including the ability to use smartphones or computers for online applications, documentation, and communication.
- A minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; additional education in commerce, finance, or related fields is an advantage.
- Prior experience in sales, community outreach, or financial services is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn and participate in LIC training programs is essential.
- Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid setup in Lucknow, with the ability to travel locally for customer visits and branch meetings as required.
