Role Description The AWS Intern role at PPStack is a full-time remote position focused on supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions on Amazon Web Services. Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting in configuring and managing AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and networking components under the guidance of senior engineers. The intern will help monitor system performance, optimize resource usage, and contribute to security, backup, and disaster recovery practices. The role also involves documenting architecture and processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams on EdTech and platform projects, and participating in testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts. The intern is expected to learn quickly, apply best practices, and contribute to scalable, reliable infrastructure that supports PPStack’s learning and career platforms.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC) and basic understanding of cloud architecture.
- Skills in Linux or Windows server administration, command-line usage, and basic networking concepts (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, IP, firewalls).
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript, and exposure to automation or Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) is beneficial.
- Understanding of security best practices in the cloud, including identity and access management, encryption, and monitoring/logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch).
- Ability to research technical topics, analyze problems, and assist in troubleshooting issues related to cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document configurations, procedures, and technical findings clearly.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Associate-level certifications are a plus.
