Role Description
The Author Relationship Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram. In this position, the professional will manage and nurture relationships with authors, serving as a key point of contact throughout their publishing and marketing journey. Daily responsibilities include coordinating project timelines, gathering and communicating author requirements to internal teams (such as editing, design, and marketing), and ensuring that deliverables align with author expectations. The role involves regular check-ins with authors, addressing queries, providing updates, and offering guidance on marketing and promotional strategies. The Author Relationship Executive will also support campaign planning, track performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall author experience and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong relationship management and client servicing skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term author partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, active listening, and professional email and call etiquette.
- Organizational and coordination abilities, such as managing multiple projects, tracking timelines, and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Basic understanding of book publishing, marketing, and digital promotion, or a strong interest in the literary and publishing landscape.
- Proficiency with standard office productivity tools and collaboration platforms; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and a service-oriented approach to handling author queries and feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; degrees in Communications, Marketing, English, or related fields are an advantage.
- Prior experience in client relations, account management, publishing, or marketing is beneficial but not mandatory.
