Role Description The ATTORNEY – INSURANCE DEFENSE role is a full-time, on-site position based in India. The attorney will handle insurance defense litigation matters, including case assessment, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and preparing case strategies in coordination with clients and internal stakeholders. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, reviewing policies and claims files, advising clients on legal risks, participating in negotiations and settlement discussions, and representing clients in hearings and court proceedings as required. The role also involves collaborating with claims teams, maintaining organized case files, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing clear, timely legal updates and recommendations.
Qualifications
seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its North Jersey team. This role is designed for an attorney with 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation experience who is comfortable independently managing a caseload while working closely with experienced litigators and firm leadership. Experience handling New Jersey automobile liability matters is strongly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents
- Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances
- Participate in arbitrations and mediations, prepare matters for trial
- Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims
professionals, and corporate clients
- Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; Active New
- Jersey law license; 3-8 years of insurance defense litigation.
