About the Opportunity
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong employment and labour law background who are keen to gain hands-on experience working directly with business and HR stakeholders on a broad range of workplace-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on employment and labour law matters across the employee lifecycle.
- Partner closely with HR, Employee Relations and business teams on workplace and employee-related issues.
- Conduct and support employment investigations, including misconduct, ethics, policy violation, whistleblower and workplace complaints.
- Advise on employee relations matters, including performance management, grievance handling and sensitive workplace issues.
- Provide legal support on disciplinary actions, employee exits and separation-related matters.
- Advise on POSH matters, including investigations, policy interpretation and compliance requirements.
- Support legal aspects of restructuring initiatives, workforce changes, organisational realignments and role eliminations.
- Review and draft employment contracts, policies, handbooks, employee communications and workplace procedures.
- Provide practical, risk-based HR advisory support to business stakeholders.
- Assist with labour law compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and mitigate employment-related legal risks.
Candidate Profile
2-4 years PQE with significant exposure to employment and labour law matters.
Experience advising on:
- Employment investigations
- Employee relations matters
- Disciplinary proceedings
- POSH compliance and investigations
- Restructuring and workforce changes
- Separation and termination matters
- General HR advisory work
Strong drafting, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to provide pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
Prior in-house, secondment or client-facing advisory experience would be an advantage.
Preferred Background
This opportunity would be particularly suitable for associates from Labour & Employment practices who are looking to gain exposure to an in-house legal environment and work closely with HR and business teams on day-to-day employment law matters.
