Job Title: Lecturer / Assistant Professor – Fashion Marketing (Part-Time)

Position Summary
The Part-Time Lecturer / Assistant Professor – Fashion Marketing will be responsible for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in the Fashion Communication Department. The role involves delivering courses in fashion marketing, branding, consumer behaviour, digital marketing, advertising, public relations, and retail marketing while fostering creative thinking, strategic problem-solving, and industry awareness. The faculty member will contribute to curriculum development, student mentoring, research, and industry engagement while bringing current industry perspectives into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Teach undergraduate courses related to Fashion Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Fashion Branding & Positioning, Marketing Principles, Digital Marketing, Fashion Advertising & Promotions, Fashion Retail Marketing, Public Relations, and Brand Management.
- Deliver engaging lectures, workshops, practical sessions, case studies, and project-based learning experiences.
- Develop lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with academic and industry standards.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, research, and strategic problem-solving through classroom discussions and practical projects.
- Integrate current industry practices and real-world case studies into teaching.
Student Mentorship
- Mentor students in academic projects, portfolios, and career development.
- Guide students in writing, content creation, curation, and proofreading for print and digital communication.
- Provide constructive feedback on assignments, presentations, campaigns, and research work.
- Support students in developing professional and industry-ready skills.
Curriculum Development
- Contribute to the continuous development and enhancement of the Fashion Communication curriculum.
- Ensure course content remains aligned with evolving industry trends, best practices, and academic standards.
- Design learning experiences that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Engage in research, publications, conferences, and professional development.
- Stay updated with current trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in fashion marketing and communication.
- Contribute to the university's academic and research initiatives.
Industry Engagement & Institutional Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fashion brands, agencies, industry professionals, and corporate partners.
- Facilitate live projects, internships, and placement opportunities for students.
- Organize guest lectures, industry visits, workshops, and collaborative learning experiences.
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic activities, exhibitions, seminars, and university initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Fashion Marketing, Fashion Communication, Brand Management, Marketing, or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience with 2–3 years of teaching experience.
- Professional experience in Fashion Marketing, Branding, Brand Management, Advertising, Public Relations, Fashion Retail, or Fashion Communication is highly desirable.
- Experience working with reputed fashion brands or advertising agencies will be preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of fashion marketing, branding, consumer behaviour, retail marketing, and public relations.
- Deep understanding of fashion brands, brand positioning, and marketing strategy.
- Expertise in advertising, campaign development, and brand communication.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to mentor students through project-based and experiential learning.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and related digital design tools.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, mentoring, and collaborative skills.
Work Timings
- Monday to Friday
- 8.30 AM to 4:30 PM (8 hours a day)
