Role Description The ASR and AI Transcription Specialist (English Language | 65 wpm) is a full-time remote role focused on producing accurate, high-quality transcripts from audio and video using both AI-driven tools and manual refinement. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing automated speech recognition (ASR) output, correcting errors, and ensuring proper grammar, punctuation, and formatting. The specialist will handle a variety of content types, such as interviews, meetings, webinars, and training materials, while adhering to project-specific guidelines and turnaround times. The role involves monitoring audio clarity, flagging inconsistencies or missing segments, and applying style guides to maintain consistency across transcripts. Collaboration with project managers and technical teams to provide feedback on ASR tool performance and suggest improvements is also part of the position.
Qualifications
- Strong English language proficiency, including excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and comprehension skills.
- Ability to type at a minimum of 65 words per minute with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working with AI transcription or ASR platforms, and comfort navigating web-based productivity tools.
- Demonstrated ability to follow style guides, client instructions, and confidentiality requirements.
- Effective time management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Comfort working with diverse audio content, including different accents, speaking styles, and technical subjects.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to repeatedly review audio to ensure precise transcription and minimal errors.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote work setup, including audio equipment that supports clear listening.
- Previous experience in transcription, captioning, or related language services is beneficial but not strictly required.
