Role Description The Article Trainee will support the firm’s partners and senior team members in day-to-day accounting, tax, and audit work. Responsibilities include assisting with bookkeeping and finalization of accounts, preparing working papers for income tax and GST returns, supporting statutory, internal, and concurrent audits, and helping with documentation for business valuation and entity incorporation. The role involves maintaining accurate records, performing basic financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations under guidance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division, offering hands-on learning and practical exposure across multiple areas of chartered accountancy.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles and bookkeeping; ability to work with ledgers, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Basic knowledge of direct and indirect taxation, particularly income tax and GST, including return preparation and compliance support.
- Interest in audit and assurance work, with willingness to learn statutory, internal, concurrent, and GST audit procedures and documentation.
- Comfort with financial analysis and business concepts, including exposure or openness to learn business valuation and entity incorporation processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally or similar) is an advantage.
- Currently pursuing or completed initial levels of a professional qualification such as CA, or a relevant commerce/accounting degree.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to follow structured processes and timelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to learn in a team-based environment.
