Role Description The Articled Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Pune Division. The role involves supporting audits (statutory, internal, concurrent, and GST), assisting in accounting and bookkeeping, and working on income tax and GST return preparation and compliances under supervision. The Articled Assistant will help in drafting working papers, preparing schedules, and maintaining documentation for client engagements. Daily responsibilities also include supporting management advisory assignments, assisting with business valuations and entity formation work, coordinating with clients for data collection, and ensuring adherence to professional standards and timelines. The role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of assignments, structured learning, and mentorship from experienced professionals.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or eligible for Articleship under the Chartered Accountants regulations, with a strong academic foundation in accounting and taxation.
- Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial statements, with the ability to work accurately with numbers and ledgers.
- Exposure to taxation concepts, including income tax and GST, and interest in learning compliance, return filing, and related procedures.
- Comfort with audit-related work, including vouching, verification, preparation of working papers, and understanding of internal controls.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word) and familiarity with accounting or tax software; willingness to learn new tools used by the firm.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, with attention to detail and ability to follow professional standards.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with team members and interact professionally with clients.
- High level of integrity, willingness to take responsibility, and openness to continuous learning and training across different service areas.
