Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for driving sales growth and market development for ProteoGen’s life science product portfolio in an assigned territory. This role involves identifying and engaging prospective customers, nurturing relationships with existing accounts, and promoting solutions that meet the needs of research institutions, laboratories, and healthcare organizations. The Area Sales Manager will conduct regular customer visits, product presentations, and demonstrations, while coordinating closely with the technical and logistics teams to ensure timely support and delivery. Daily activities include developing and executing territory sales plans, tracking performance against targets, preparing sales reports, and providing market feedback to management. The role also includes participation in conferences, workshops, and promotional events to enhance brand visibility and strengthen partnerships.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including prospecting, territory management, and account growth.
- Experience in life sciences or related domains, with the ability to understand and discuss products in genomics, proteomics, immunology, and cell biology.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities for engaging with researchers, lab managers, and decision-makers.
- Proficiency in basic sales reporting, CRM usage, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate with technical, logistics, and marketing teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field; an MBA or formal sales training is an advantage.
- Proven track record in field sales or key account management, preferably in scientific instruments, reagents, or healthcare solutions.
- High level of integrity, customer focus, and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
