Role Description The Area Manager West is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, responsible for driving business growth and operational excellence across designated territories in Western India. The role involves managing and supporting branch teams, guiding sales and distribution partners, and ensuring achievement of regional sales, renewal, and profitability targets. The Area Manager West will oversee implementation of company strategies, monitor performance metrics, ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies, and maintain strong relationships with key channel partners and corporate clients. This position also includes coaching and developing team members, resolving escalations, collaborating with cross-functional departments, and representing the region in reviews and planning discussions to enhance customer experience and market presence.
Qualifications
- Strong regional sales and business development capabilities, with experience in managing multi-branch operations or territories in financial services or insurance.
- Proficiency in distribution management, including handling agency, broker, banca, and corporate channel partners, and driving performance through clear targets and tracking.
- Solid people leadership skills, including team mentoring, performance management, and fostering an inclusive, high-accountability work culture.
- Ability to analyze market data and business reports, forecast performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize growth and profitability.
- Sound understanding of health insurance products, regulatory requirements, and customer service standards; prior health or general insurance experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
- Comfort with using CRM systems, MS Office tools, and digital platforms for reporting, tracking, and managing sales operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and operational targets in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
