Role Description The Algorithmic Trader will design, implement, and manage automated trading strategies across selected markets, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and risk management. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring live trading systems, analyzing market microstructure, optimizing algorithms, and collaborating with technology teams to ensure reliable system performance. The role involves back-testing strategies, refining execution logic, and evaluating trading performance metrics to improve profitability and stability. This is a full-time hybrid role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, combining on-site work at the office with flexibility for partial work-from-home arrangements. The Algorithmic Trader will also contribute to research on new markets and instruments, support proprietary trading initiatives, and maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Trading and Proprietary Trading, with experience managing live positions and understanding risk-reward dynamics.
- Demonstrated expertise in Trading Strategies, including development, back-testing, and performance evaluation of algorithmic approaches.
- Knowledge of Trading Systems, including order execution platforms, connectivity, and system monitoring tools.
- Exposure to Market Making concepts, including liquidity provision, spread management, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in quantitative analysis and statistical modeling, ideally using programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, market microstructure, and derivative or cash instruments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, maintain clear communication with team members, and adapt to fast-changing market conditions.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a disciplined approach to risk management and compliance.
