Role Description The Air and Ocean Export Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing end-to-end export operations for air and ocean shipments, including booking cargo space, preparing export documentation, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. The specialist will liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to monitor shipment status, resolve operational issues, and meet customer service expectations. Daily activities include validating export data, tracking and updating shipment information in internal systems, handling rate negotiations within defined guidelines, and supporting continuous improvement of export processes. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, preparing reports for internal stakeholders, and contributing to safe, efficient, and cost-effective logistics operations.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of air and ocean export procedures, international shipping terms (Incoterms), and basic customs and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and certificates of origin.
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain systems, including shipment tracking tools and MS Office (especially Excel) for reporting and analysis.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills for coordinating with customers, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy in high-volume export environments.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address shipment delays, exceptions, and process bottlenecks in a structured manner.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or export operations; experience in a large supply chain organization is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in logistics or international trade are beneficial.
- Willingness to work on-site in Bengaluru and collaborate across functions in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
