Hiring: Admission Counsellor (IELTS) — TuringEdge Technologies, Ahmedabad

About the role
TuringEdge Technologies is looking for confident Admission Counsellors who can turn interest into admissions. You'll be speaking every day with students who want to study or settle abroad and need IELTS training. Your job is to understand what they're aiming for, explain how our IELTS preparation programme gets them there, and bring them into our centre for a counselling session or demo class.

What you'll do
- Reach out to fresh and existing enquiries (walk-in database, campaigns, referrals) and counsel them on our IELTS preparation programme
- Build your own pipeline through cold outreach beyond the leads handed to you
- Qualify each student — target band score, exam date, budget, country they're applying to
- Handle objections around fees, timing, batch schedules and "I'll think about it"
- Book centre visits, demo classes and counselling appointments — and follow up until they actually show up
- Follow up consistently on WhatsApp and phone; most admissions close on the 3rd or 4th touch, not the 1st
- Maintain clean records of every conversation, status and next follow-up date in CRM/Excel
- Coordinate with the academic team for smooth enrolment
- Meet daily outreach targets and monthly admission targets
What we're looking for
- Fluency in Gujarati, Hindi and English — you'll switch between all three in a single day
- Clear voice and good phone etiquette; able to sound warm and confident on a first call
- Convincing and persuasive without being pushy — consultative counselling, not scripted reading
- Active listening: catch what the student actually wants before you pitch
- Objection handling and negotiation skills
- Persistence and follow-up discipline — the follow-up is where the admission is made
- Target-driven mindset; comfortable working with daily and monthly numbers
- Basic computer skills — Excel/Google Sheets, CRM, WhatsApp Business
- Ability to note and organise student data accurately
- Patience and a positive attitude late into a long day of calls
- Minimum HSC / Graduate preferred
Good to have
- Prior experience as an Admission Counsellor or in student admissions at an institute, coaching centre or university
- Knowledge of IELTS, study abroad or immigration processes
- Experience with cold outreach and lead conversion
