Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Admission Counsellor role based in Kanpur. The Admission Counsellor will guide students and families through the college selection and admission process, including explaining exam results, eligibility, cutoffs, and course options for engineering, medical, and management programs. Responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in person, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and admission status. The role involves providing timely and reliable information about colleges, entrance exams, and application procedures, as well as supporting students in completing forms, documentation, and application submissions. The Admission Counsellor will also collaborate with the team to improve counseling processes, contribute to educational content, and participate in outreach or information sessions as needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively counsel students and interact with parents.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide responsive, empathetic, and reliable support throughout the admission journey.
- Candidates should possess Sales skills to counsel students on suitable options and convert inquiries into successful enrollments in line with organizational goals.
- Candidates should possess Education-related knowledge or experience, particularly in higher education pathways for engineering, medical, and management programs.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include strong organizational and documentation skills, proficiency with basic computer applications and online platforms, and the ability to manage multiple student cases at once.
- A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred, with prior experience in academic counseling, admissions, or education services considered an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Kanpur, maintain professionalism, and uphold a student-centric, non-discriminatory approach in all interactions.
