Job details:
We're Hiring: Accounting Engineer β CA / CA Inter
π Hyderabad
The Role
We're building AI agents that can run the books of a business.
As an Accounting Engineer, you'll be the accounting expert those agents answer to. You'll review what they post, catch what they get wrong, define the rules they follow, and continuously improve how they handle real-world accounting.
This isn't a traditional accounting role. There's no audit, no routine data entry, and no visiting clients.
Instead, you'll work at the intersection of accounting and AI β turning accounting knowledge into rules, logic, checks, and guardrails that allow AI agents to operate accurately at scale.
What You'll Own
β Review AI-agent posted accounting entries, reconciliations, and exceptions across multiple client books
β Identify and resolve accounting exceptions β from unusual invoices to mismatched payouts and reconciliation differences
β Design and improve accounting logic, including CoA structures, posting rules, mappings, reconciliation logic, and GST treatment
β Define what an AI agent can post independently and what it must escalate for human review
β Build rules, prompts, checks, and guardrails that improve agent accuracy
β Investigate recurring errors and convert every fix into a rule so the same problem doesn't repeat
β Own the final accounting judgment on whether an entry, reconciliation, or treatment is correct
β Work closely with engineers to translate accounting decisions into systems that agents can execute
β Take ownership of a domain of the product end-to-end rather than processing a queue of files
Zero manual data entry. We mean it.
What We're Looking For
β CA Inter / Semi-qualified CA / Qualified CA with strong exposure to bookkeeping and GST
β Strong accounting fundamentals β you understand why an entry is correct, not just how to pass it
β Practical experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations, GST, and real-world accounting scenarios
β Ability to identify unexplained differences and investigate them until they make sense
β Comfort with accounting tools, Excel, and technology
β Curiosity about AI and an interest in understanding how accounting work can be automated
β Ability to explain accounting decisions clearly and precisely enough for an engineer β or an AI agent β to follow
β High ownership and attention to detail
Coding isn't required. Our engineers handle the code; you bring the accounting judgment and logic.
What Makes This Role Different
A traditional accounting role asks:
"Can you process these books correctly?"
This role asks:
"Can you teach a machine to process these books correctly β and know when it shouldn't?"
You'll be working on the accounting intelligence behind an AI-first product, helping us move from automating individual tasks to building agents that can reason through accounting workflows.
If you've ever automated a repetitive accounting task in Excel and thought "there has to be a better way" β you'll probably enjoy this role.
Who Should Apply?
CA Inter / Semi-qualified CA: You'll focus more on reviewing agent output, resolving exceptions, reconciliations, and progressively building accounting rules and automation logic.
Qualified CA: You'll take greater ownership of accounting architecture, agent behaviour, posting logic, GST treatment, guardrails, accuracy evaluation, and product-level accounting decisions.
The exact scope will depend on your experience and depth.

In your email, answer this:
Tell us one accounting rule you'd trust an AI to apply without supervision, and one you never would.
