Role Description The Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area (Dankuni). The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial accounting activities using TallyPrime, including bookkeeping, general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly and annual closing activities, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. The role also involves monitoring compliance with company policies, local tax regulations, and relevant accounting standards, as well as coordinating with internal departments and external auditors. The Accountant will contribute to budgeting support, variance analysis, and continuous improvement of financial processes to ensure efficient operations in a manufacturing and export environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in financial accounting, including general ledger management, bookkeeping, and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable processes, bank reconciliation, and cash-flow monitoring.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems; solid skills in MS Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Knowledge of Indian accounting standards, taxation rules, GST, TDS, and compliance requirements relevant to manufacturing and export businesses.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret financial data for reporting and decision support.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, export, or industrial sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
