Role Description The Assistant Accountant will support the finance and accounts team in managing daily accounting operations for the company’s branches and warehouse. This full-time, on-site role is based in Ahmedabad and includes tasks such as recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, preparing vouchers, and assisting with GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance documentation. The role involves reconciling bank statements, supporting invoice and payment processing, and coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders for accurate billing and collections. The Assistant Accountant will also assist in preparing basic financial reports, supporting audits, and ensuring proper filing and documentation of all accounting records.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong accounting skills, including ledger posting, voucher preparation, and basic knowledge of GST and TDS.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to manage spreadsheets, reconciliations, and data entry accurately.
- Candidates should possess good analytical and numerical skills to review transactions, identify discrepancies, and support financial reporting.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with the finance team, sales staff, and external partners.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in an accounting or finance support role in an industrial or trading environment is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess a willingness to learn, adapt to ERP/SAP environments, and follow established processes and compliance standards.
