Following Are The Must Have Skills
- 5-8 years of total experience in enterprise applications / HR technology, including at least 3 years of direct hands-on Workday HCM configuration, implementation and/or production-support experience.
- Mandatory Workday experience: the candidate must have personally configured Workday. Profiles limited to Workday end-user usage, HR operations, PMO/project coordination, UAT-only, reporting-only or vendor coordination without hands-on configuration should not be shortlisted.
- Hands-on participation in at least one end-to-end Workday implementation or major rollout, preferably followed by post-go-live support, enhancement or AMS/application-management responsibility.
- Strong Workday functional knowledge in Core HCM and employee lifecycle processes. Practical exposure to additional areas such as Recruiting, Onboarding, Absence, Talent/Performance, Learning or Compensation is desirable depending on project scope. Payroll processing itself is outside the core role; understanding Workday-to-payroll interfaces is sufficient.
- Strong hands-on Workday Business Process configuration capability: BP definitions, approval/action/review steps, routing, condition rules, validations, notifications, alerts, exception paths and troubleshooting of stuck/incorrectly routed events.
- Strong Workday security knowledge including security groups, role assignments, domain security policies, Business Process security policies, View/Modify and integration permissions, least-privilege principles and security troubleshooting.
- Strong Workday reporting capability including custom reports, advanced reporting concepts, calculated fields, dashboards/audit reports, scheduled outputs and Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS) where appropriate.
- Strong Workday integration knowledge with hands-on exposure to Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) inbound/outbound integrations and delivered/Core Connectors, plus working knowledge of Workday Web Services/APIs (REST/SOAP), RaaS, SFTP/file-based interfaces and integration-system security.
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot Workday integrations: review integration events, schedules, source/target data, mappings, error messages, authentication/security issues and failed loads; coordinate effectively with Workday Studio/integration developers when advanced development is required.
- Experience with Workday data migration, mass-load or conversion activities including data mapping, data cleansing, EIB/template preparation, reconciliation, exception handling and cutover validation.
- Strong Workday testing capability covering SIT, UAT, regression testing, Business Process scenarios, security-role testing, integration testing, defect reproduction, retesting and evidence-based closure.
- Experience supporting Workday release/update cycles, including impact review, testing in available non-production/preview environments, regression of critical Business Processes/integrations and post-release validation.
- Ability to diagnose whether a Workday issue is caused by Business Process configuration, condition logic, security, data, calculated fields/report logic, integration, tenant configuration or product behavior before escalating it.
- Ability to create and maintain Workday configuration workbooks, BP inventory, security matrix, report/calculated-field catalogue, integration catalogue, SOPs, support runbooks and knowledge articles.
- Good technical understanding of XML/JSON, REST/SOAP concepts, SFTP, authentication/SSO and API troubleshooting. Familiarity with tools such as Postman or equivalent is desirable; coding is not mandatory for the core role.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor-management skills with the confidence to work directly with HR process owners, challenge poor design, validate Workday partner solutions, obtain knowledge transfer and avoid unnecessary external dependency.
Good to have skills and will be considered a plus:
- Hands-on Workday Studio experience for complex integrations; exposure to Workday Orchestrate or other advanced Workday integration tooling will be a strong advantage.
- Workday certification, Workday Pro/accreditation or formal Workday training in HCM, Business Process, Security, Reporting or Integration areas, where available to the candidate.
- Experience integrating Workday with SAP S/4HANA, Odoo or other ERP platforms, Microsoft Entra ID/Microsoft 365, SSO/provisioning solutions and enterprise identity platforms.
- Experience with biometric/time-attendance systems and Workday inbound/outbound interfaces supporting distributed-site attendance or workforce data.
- Experience using Power BI or similar analytics tools for validating Workday data, reconciliation and management dashboards beyond standard Workday reporting.
- Workday experience in a multi-company / multi-country environment, particularly manufacturing, mining, FMCG, logistics, engineering or another distributed-workforce industry.
- Experience supporting Africa/MEA operations or working with geographically distributed teams is an advantage; basic French would be useful for DRC coordination but is not mandatory.
