Role Description The AI Engineer – Investment Research is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying AI models and tools to support investment research across equity, private equity, and real estate strategies. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining machine learning pipelines, applying NLP and pattern recognition techniques to financial and alternative data, and implementing neural network models to uncover insights and predictive signals. The AI Engineer collaborates with investment professionals to translate research questions into technical solutions, optimize data ingestion and processing workflows, and ensure model performance, reliability, and scalability. The role also involves documenting methodologies, monitoring model outputs, and continuously improving algorithms based on feedback and evolving market conditions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and production-quality coding practices.
- Applied experience with Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition for quantitative analysis, forecasting, or signal detection in complex datasets.
- Hands-on expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) for working with financial news, reports, filings, and other unstructured text data.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML (such as Python), and familiarity with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar tools.
- Experience building end-to-end machine learning solutions, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Understanding of financial markets and investment research concepts; prior exposure to equities, private equity, or real estate data is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with investment and operations teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
