Role Overview
SafeTree is looking for a senior full stack engineer to own key modules end-to-end and set the technical bar for the team — architecting solutions, leading delivery, and driving the effective use of AI-assisted development without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into well-architected, scalable technical solutions.
- Architect and build applications using PHP, CodeIgniter, Node.js, Vue.js, and Next.js.
- Own assigned projects end-to-end — design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance.
- Build REST APIs, backend services, and responsive, high-performance UIs.
- Design and optimise MySQL/PostgreSQL databases and queries.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, SNS).
- Lead code reviews and mentor engineers on quality, security, and performance.
- Troubleshoot complex application, database, API, and server issues.
- Drive the team's use of AI coding tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor) for faster, quality-checked delivery.
- Uphold Git, testing, deployment, and documentation best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of professional web application development, with deep expertise in PHP and CodeIgniter (or similar).
- Strong experience with Node.js and backend/API development.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in Vue.js and Next.js.
- Solid grounding in OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code.
- Strong experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including design, complex queries, and optimisation.
- Strong, hands-on AWS experience (EC2, RDS, SNS) — deployment, server management, monitoring, troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to own projects independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong understanding of security, performance, scalability, and code review practices.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools and vibe-coding workflows, and the judgement to validate and secure AI-generated code before production.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
