Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site SDE2 role based in Bengaluru. The SDE2 will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power JobBeeper’s real-time job alerts, search, and personalization features.
Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, reviewing peer code, optimizing system performance, and contributing to scalable architecture decisions. The role involves collaborating closely with product, design, and other engineering team members to deliver new features, improve reliability, and enhance user experience.
The SDE2 will also be expected to troubleshoot production issues, write tests, and follow best practices for security, monitoring, and documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of professional software development experience, preferably in back-end or product engineering roles.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in at least one modern language such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Practical experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and database integration.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, caching, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization using Docker or Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Ability to write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and work with monitoring and logging tools.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced product environment.
