Role Description The Backend Developer is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurgaon. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that power web and mobile applications. The Backend Developer will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, optimize application performance, and ensure reliability and security. Daily activities include writing clean, testable code, performing code reviews, debugging issues, and contributing to architectural decisions. The role also includes collaborating on documentation, monitoring systems in production, and participating in continuous improvement of development practices and tools.
Qualifications
- Strong backend development skills, including experience with at least one modern server-side programming language (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Go) and related frameworks.
- Proficiency in working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including schema design, optimization, and query tuning.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs, with a focus on security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Understanding of software architecture principles, microservices, and distributed systems, along with experience using version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker), and basic DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to write clean, well-documented, and testable code.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams on-site in Gurgaon.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a product or startup environment is an advantage.
