Role Description This full-time, on-site Head of Engineering for Australia Opportunities role is based in Australia. The Head of Engineering will lead the technical vision and execution for Australia-focused initiatives, overseeing end-to-end engineering delivery for products and platforms that support immigration and visa consulting services. Daily responsibilities include guiding software development teams, setting engineering standards, managing project timelines and budgets, and collaborating with product, operations, and business stakeholders to align technology solutions with service offerings. The role involves mentoring engineering managers and team leads, driving process improvements, ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable systems, and monitoring performance metrics to support continuous optimization. The Head of Engineering will also explore new technologies and tools that can enhance client experience, operational efficiency, and global scalability.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Team Management and Team Leadership skills to build, guide, and retain high-performing engineering teams.
- Candidates should possess solid Engineering Management experience, including setting technical direction and overseeing complex, multi-team initiatives.
- Candidates should possess robust Project Management abilities to plan, prioritize, and deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Candidates should possess hands-on Software Development experience, with proficiency in modern development practices, architectures, and tools.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams within product-based or technology-driven service organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business, product, and operations functions.
- Background in designing scalable, secure, and reliable systems; experience with cloud platforms and integration of third-party services is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and exposure to international markets, ideally including Australia, is an advantage.
