About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Engineering Group, specializing in Camera Sensor and Image Processing Technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing camera and multimedia frameworks for next-generation smartphones and embedded systems. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing image quality, system performance, and reliability across various devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems, driver development, and multimedia technologies, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, and software engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of our global customer base.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with relevant work experience in software engineering. A PhD is also considered advantageous. Candidates should have at least 2+ years of experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python, with a strong emphasis on C/C++ development and debugging skills. Knowledge of operating system fundamentals, including virtual memory, CPU scheduling, synchronization, and real-time system concepts, is essential. Experience with multimedia technologies, especially camera/video frameworks, is mandatory. Familiarity with Android Camera & Image processing, SoC architecture, camera pipeline, and memory subsystem architecture will be highly valued. Excellent communication skills, logical reasoning, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize camera sensor drivers and image processing algorithms to improve image quality and system performance.
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate camera modules and ensure seamless operation across platforms.
- Implement and maintain multimedia frameworks for camera and video functionalities, ensuring compatibility with various device configurations.
- Conduct performance analysis and debugging of camera systems, including real-time issues such as memory corruption, deadlocks, and race conditions.
- Participate in system bring-up activities, including camera sensor initialization, calibration, and tuning of 3A algorithms (auto-exposure, auto-white balance, auto-focus).
- Develop and execute unit tests using frameworks like CPPTest or GoogleTest to ensure robustness and reliability of software components.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define specifications, troubleshoot issues, and deliver innovative solutions within project timelines.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in multimedia and embedded system technologies to continuously improve product offerings.
