About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Manager to lead our CI/CD Quality Engineering team within the Enterprise Technical Operations division. This leadership role is pivotal in shaping the automation and quality assurance strategies that underpin our software delivery processes. As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing team of engineers dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our quality standards across a diverse portfolio of applications. Your expertise will drive the development and implementation of continuous integration and deployment automation, ensuring system stability, improved reporting capabilities, and an exceptional user experience. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by at least 12 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 3 years in a managerial role overseeing engineering teams in a CI/CD or DevOps environment is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a strong technical background with proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Perl, Java, Typescript, or C. Experience with deployment and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is required. Domain expertise in hosted and on-premise web and standalone applications is highly desirable. Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium, source code control systems, build tools, and continuous integration systems is necessary. Additionally, experience with virtualization, cloud platforms, containerization technologies, and agile methodologies will be advantageous. Strong stakeholder management, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of mentoring engineering talent are also critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team of CI/CD and quality engineers, providing performance management, coaching, and career development support.
- Implement and drive the global strategy for quality engineering, DevOps, and release management, emphasizing automation, continuous integration, and deployment best practices.
- Remove technical blockers and support the team in debugging complex integration environments to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze source code and recommend appropriate testing strategies for various applications and products.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, ensuring automation and industry best practices are consistently followed across the team.
- Lead technical quality reviews with senior management and internal stakeholders, advocating for necessary resources and prioritization.
- Review quality audit results, develop corrective action plans, and ensure continuous improvement in quality standards.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on testing efforts, quality metrics, and overall project health to relevant stakeholders.
- Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and data to optimize automation processes and reduce technical debt.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team, ensuring comprehensive documentation of workflows, processes, and best practices.
- Manage team capacity planning, sprint commitments, and delivery timelines, balancing immediate project needs with strategic objectives.
